150.000 trees for the climate: CARINI employees set an example with planting campaign

The company based in Lustenau, Austria is one of the leading label printers in Europe and is also taking a targeted approach to climate protection: in April 2021, CARINI planted the first trees in the Bleischwald forest near Bludenz, Austria and has now continued its in-house project "1:1 - ONE ORDER, ONE TREE" as part of a family event.
150.000 trees for the climate: CARINI employees set an example with planting campaign

The project goal 150.000 trees by 2030

For each customer order, a young tree is planted – the principle is so simple, the effect so valuable. After all, each individual tree absorbs large amounts of climate-damaging CO2 in the course of its life and converts it into oxygen. “As a responsible company, we see it as our duty to use natural resources carefully. That’s why we are continuously expanding the share of sustainable products in our portfolio – and it is our declared goal to plant 150.000 trees worldwide by 2030, at least one third of them in our local forests in Vorarlberg,” says CARINI Managing Director Edgar Sohm.

The fact that this project is enthusiastically supported by the entire company was demonstrated once again on September 24, when numerous CARINI employees together with several partners and family members gathered at the Schweizer Ried in Lustenau to plant further project trees with their own hands. They were supported in this by the experienced forest experts Stephan Philipp, head of the department of forest ecology and forest planning at the Office of the Vorarlberg Provincial Government, and Georg Fulterer, head of Agrargemeinschaft Altenstadt. They had also selected the tree species optimally suited for the project in the form of English oaks and wild cherries.

“A particular priority in our sustainability projects is the common good,” explains Edgar Sohm. “Therefore, this campaign is not aimed at commercial gain, but rather to sustainably benefit all people in the region as a contribution to the reforestation of communal forests.”

Since reforestation is not just a regional issue, CARINI also supports other tree planting projects in Asia, Africa and South America. For this purpose, the Lustenau-based company is currently using the network of the children and youth initiative “Plant-for-the-planet“.
