A masterpiece of a label – made by CARINI

The “Priorat Sobre Todo 2016” label produced by CARINI for a Spanish wine from the Swiss Philipp Schwander AG impresses with outstanding quality in every respect – both in terms of design and printing. Added value that you can feel and see. The current Swiss banknotes from 2016 served as a source of inspiration.

Wine merchant Philipp Schwander liked the feel and look of the banknotes so much that he hired Manuela Pfrunder, the graphic designer responsible for the design. The new label was electronically engraved by Armin Waldhauser, the engraver – formerly also known as the “copper engraver” – at the Orell Füssli printing company, where the Swiss National Bank has its banknotes produced. The result of this unique cooperation, which lasted over two years, is a wine label far beyond the conventional, which symbolises the high quality of the wine on several levels and has already made the bottles of the “Priorat Sobre Todo 2016” sought-after collector’s items after a short time. A “mysterious” label indeed…

With its usual passion and innovative strength, the CARINI team also played a decisive role in this literally beautiful success. In the course of an intensive consultation, we were able to show, among other things, how the extraordinary “banknote embossing effects” such as holograms and watermarks can be optimally realised. For this purpose, various machine proofs with different foils and tools were carried out and finally an enormously complex offset print with countless hidden details was realised. The label of the “Priorat Sobre Todo 2016” is thus of timeless fascination, because every time you look at it, you discover completely new secrets again and again…
