After the end of the Second World War, the company moved to the up-and-coming Vorarlberg Rhine Valley municipality of Lustenau. The focus is 100% on the label trade.

Siegfried Erne joins the sole proprietorship Mario Carini as Managing Director.

On May 1, Walter Erne starts printing the first labels on a Heidelberg platen in a rented premises. Today it is on display in the company.

In 1985, the wine scandal, one of the biggest food scandals in the history of the Second Republic, was uncovered. This also means that the majority of sales are lost virtually overnight.

On July 22, after only five months of construction, we move into our new premises on the corner of Bildgasse and Rasisbündt, which are 2.5 times larger.

In 1998, the company invests in a completely new machine technology: Digital printing on rolls. Etiketten CARINI is therefore the first company in Austria, Switzerland and southern Germany to offer this technology. Digital printing on rolls creates the opportunity to open up completely new markets in the small-volume sector.

Siegfried Erne retires from day-to-day business and hands over operational management to Thomas and Edgar Sohm.

The extension will increase the floor space by around 150% to approx. 5,500 m². The "Speedy" project also focuses on reducing the throughput speed of an order by 30%.

We are the second company worldwide to invest in the Gallus RCS offset press. The concept of platform-based printing presses marks the beginning of a new era in which we can respond to each job individually and according to specific requirements.

The years 2008/2009 are characterized by the expansion of the company building. Comfortable space for a new entrance area, offices, packing, dispatch, sanitary and social rooms are offered on 1,300 m² of space on 2 floors. Environmental factors were also taken into account in the planning, for example, the new building is based on the passive house standard

After almost 4 years of preparation, we are delighted with our great success. We receive two awards at our very first attempt, one as a finalist and the second as a category winner in the 2018 State Prize for Corporate Quality. The jury's reasoning: Etiketten CARINI is a family-run, economically very successful company with a strong sense of social responsibility, high employee orientation and a correspondingly characterized corporate culture.

On June 3, 2019, Dr. Harald Raak took up his position as the new Managing Director of CARINI. Edgar Sohm remains Chairman of the Management Board. At the same time, Thomas Sohm is stepping down from his role as Managing Director after 28 years at the helm of CARINI. Together with Andrea Sohm, he will increasingly take care of the tasks as CARINI's owner representative and continue to provide support in customer care

After a construction period of around six months, we were able to complete the extension to our digital printing production facility and the new offices. The expansion of our production areas has created 300 m² of space for possible capacity expansions and four new, bright offices. Investments were also made in technical modernization and room cooling.

Order by order, tree by tree, we want to help save the climate. Through each individual customer order and together with national and international partners, we plant trees in Vorarlberg and in places around the world where reforestation is essential. We have set ourselves the goal of planting 150,000 trees by 2030.

After repeated awards at the international FINAT Label Award, we win the overall "Best in Show" prize for the first time.

Etiketten CARINI wins the 20th Golden Pixel Award in the largest category labels with the show label "Carini Moonshiner". The award was presented at a live event in Vienna on April 7.

On June 1, 2022 in Baveno, Italy, CARINI will present four category winners, underlining its first-class range. The ongoing success story of previous years, including the overall "Best in Show" victory in 2021, continues. With five "highly commended" awards and four category winners, it has succeeded in setting a clear example in international comparison.

On March 1, the company changes its name to CARINI GmbH. As part of the comprehensive brand relaunch, there are also changes to the management team: Simon Sohm is the fourth generation to join the family business

On May 31, 2023 in Vienna: CARINI continues its success story with 8 "Highly Commended" awards and victory in the category with the most entries.

On October 4, 2023 in Vienna: CARINI wins the Labels category and achieves the overall victory of the 21st Golden Pixel Award with the "Alpine Sky" label from 9 Meadows.

In June 2024 in Naples: The "Lost Barrels" project by our client Ruska Martin Associates wins gold in the Wine Label category.

At the beginning of 2025, Thomas Sohm hands over the baton to the fourth generation after more than 30 years of successful management. The new team is leading CARINI into the future with fresh energy and clear goals.

In the 2026 award ceremony, the "Helium" Etiketten CARINI label won over the jury in the labels category. The award is presented for the fourth time in a row.

At the turn of the year 2026, the 4th generation takes over the management completely. Edgar Sohm steps down as Managing Director and concentrates on key accounts & international customers.

CARINI is once again awarded the "Family-friendly company" quality seal.
