With the acquisition of the high-performance Rhino II S, another innovation has found its way into the CARINI portfolio: precisely fitting film insettings. This foil is processed like any other hot stamping foil – but with one crucial difference, namely the precise placement in the print image. This is because when it comes to insetting, we are not talking about conventional foils, but special variants with lens optics, personalised logos and hologram effects.

A wide range of finishing options and greater security
Lenses and holograms are ideal for giving labels and packaging a high-quality yet exceptionally attractive appearance. Furthermore, in combination with other printing technologies, they can be an important component of modern and enormously powerful security functions. for the new possibilities is the CARINI Moonshiner label, with which we have already demonstrated the potential of lens placement through our flatbed embossing system in a particularly impressive way. The historical background of the motif is the fact that in earlier times, schnapps was also distilled in our homeland, the Vorarlberg Rhine Valley, without the permission of the government – such illegal spirits were colloquially known in the USA as “moonshiner”. Inspired by this story, together with the design collective viergestalten from Dornbirn and Rhino II S manufacturer Pantec, we have created a label that not only has a decidedly noble and mysterious effect, but also an almost eerie allure.
